Who is Muck?
Muck is a wine-lover, a risk taker and a doting uncle… and strangely enough, it is a combination of all of those attributes that led him to winemaking and the creation of “The House of Muck”. An all too predictable midlife crisis led him to abandon a successful career and return to university as a mature-age student to study the science of winemaking. It really was answering a calling from his ancestors. His grandfather and great grandfather were both winemakers in Victoria’s Grampians. With wine in his blood, so to speak, in 2014 he formalised a lifetime of loving and drinking wine by studying wine science.
Fast forward to 2020 and “The House of Muck” is now establishing itself in the Grampians and their first vintage has been released. And as for the weird name … he was anointed “Muck” by his nieces and nephews many years ago and it’s stuck. So, what better way to honour the title than to extend the name to his wine house.
Muck is an enigma, and family means everything to him. “The House of Muck” is a family project, with his son, nieces, nephews, and siblings all involved in the growth of this family enterprise.
“Our beautiful hand-crafted wines are our passion … and you are now part of our family.”
